ersatz modem is the electronic music project of visual artist Spencer Hutchinson. Started in late 2004, The primary aim of the ersatz modem project was to apply to electronic music production the same attitude that Modern artists would apply to Abstract painting in the past with a focus on creating a distinctive yet varied aesthetic using the new medium of sound.
