Charis Listening Bar
Charis (pronounced care-iss) is named after the owner’s mother, Joan Charis Smith Jandernoa, who taught him that sharing music paired with a drink, lively conversation and the people you love is one of the best parts of life. The hope is that Charis is a space that brings more of those moments for friends, neighbors, and guests.
Sonic curation by 606 Records keeps the music on point and the record bins are full of gems.
Beverage direction by Gina Hoover who makes sure each drink is a treat for the senses.

CHICAGO HUSTLE
Charis Listening Bar

All vinyl selections recorded on a cool March evening, breaking in the sound system at Charis Listening Bar in Chicago (2025). A night considered a grand opening. A day where many celebrated the life of Roy Ayers who had recently passed. The beginning of a new space opening its doors to the public, with an appreciation to music, excellent cocktails and community.
